At least she didn't sink ...
[08:59] [Saturday, November 11, 2006]

Rain is dripping through the screwholes left behind by our removed stanchions. Whoops. Poor Brady is going to spend the weekend trying to stay dry, apparently, which means we all send our best wishes to him because we can't be there to help. Honestly, I feel guilty for not thinking about this sooner.

Also, our bilge has fuel in it, which, for those of us unfamiliar, is NOT good. Fortunately the leak is entirely inside the boat (thank God), but that doesn't change the shittiness of the situation. Something needs a patching up, obviously ... Not to mention the fuel needs to be dumped.

On the upside! Aside from these problems, our biggest projects are just about completed (finally). A manual freshwater footpump still needs installing, and probably our gimbled kerosene stove should be repaired so we can have hot food when we feel so inclined, but after that, our only preparations involve organization and some finishing touches on the living space.

Much luck and love to our captain this weekend! He is seriously going to need it.
