** As of April 2007, we no longer have a digital camera. Of course this means no photos until we get ourselves a new one (preferably with some type of underwater housing). If you know of a good deal on a camera of manageable size without too much gadgetry, we'd love to know about it. Drop us a line if you've got any suggestions or want to offer any help.

When we first passed through El Estor, we had planned to arrange a tour to this canyon with a guy recommended by our cruising guide particularly because he speaks English. He was not available, so we shrugged our shoulders and decided to skip the adventure. Visiting Paraiso for the second time, though, we asked if we could hitch a ride to El Boqueron, and sure enough, for not too much money we could ride a pick-up to the river and cayuco through the canyon ourselves. It was -- as all our tours in Guatemala have been -- absolutely beautiful.
